In Canberra's Centenary year Australian National Capital Artists Inc. (ANCA) celebrates 21 years since the final completion of 35 purpose-built non-residential artist studio spaces and a gallery, with an exhibition at Canberra Museum and Gallery (CMAG) of contemporary works by ANCA Alumni artists.
21 years is a coming of age and allows examination of ANCA's achievements, with a roll call of more than of 200 artist tenants. The contemporary work of 23 Alumni artists chosen for the birthday exhibition at CMAG is a small representation of the accomplishment of many artists who have an Intensity of purpose, in their time at ANCA and since, in their careers nationally and internationally.
Currently ANCA continues to foster artistic development and thus, Intensity of purpose: 21 years of ANCA has been programmed to coincide with ANCA NOW (27 March - Sunday 21 April 2013), an exhibition showcasing the best work of 27 of ANCA's current studio artists, curated by founding board member Meredith Hinchliffe.
