Remembrances of my youth

Sidney Nolan produced many memorable paintings with mask-like heads as their central imagery, including the iconic Kelly series, 1945-47. The artist continued to paint works on the theme of the
head and in 1983 he completed the Remembrance of my youth series, consisting of these
14 remarkable works.

The Nolan Collection is managed by
Canberra Museum and Gallery on
behalf of the Australian Government.

The Nolan Collection Gallery

CANBERRA MUSEUM + GALLERY is the permanent home for twenty-four iconic paintings
by Sir Sidney Nolan. Donated by the artist to the people of Australia in 1974,
the Foundation Collection includes fifteen works from the Kelly series and the first
of his Burke and Wills paintings.
