DRY AS A BONE: SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM

Thursday 28 April > 10.00am – 2.00pm (5 to 8 years)
Friday 29 April > 10.00am – 2.00pm (9 to 12 years)


Journey into the desert with Burke and Wills and explore the outback through Sidney Nolan’s
desert and drought paintings. Use a variety of natural and manmade materials to create your
own desert diorama in the CMAG Studio.


Cost: $20 (ACT M&G Members $15), includes all materials.

SIDNEY NOLAN AND THE HEIDE CIRCLE

Kendrah Morgan, Heide curator, will discuss the halcyon days of Heide from the late 1930s
through to the 1950s, with a focus on Nolan’s work. She will also talk of her research for the
2010 publication Sunday’s Kitchen: Food and Living at Heide, which examines life behind the
scenes with the Reeds.


Cost: $10 (ACT M&G Members free), includes morning tea.
The publication 'Sunday’s Kitchen' will be available for purchase and signing.

NATIONAL FOLK FESTIVAL LAUNCH

Wednesday 6 April > 11.00am – 12.30pm


Celebrate the merging of music and art as the 45th National Folk Festival is launched in a joint presentation with the Nolan Collection Gallery @ CMAG. Preview some of the Festival highlights
including special program presentations around the legend of Ned Kelly, Australia’s most infamous bushranger. Alongside vibrant music from leading Australian folk musicians, Peter Haynes,
Director of ACT M&G, will discuss Sidney Nolan’s iconic Kelly series.


Cost: Free, includes light refreshments
