Venue Hire
Our sites offer a number of elegant and unusual function areas for hire for private ceremonies, photographic sessions, conferences, meetings, receptions, performances, classes and lectures.
Canberra Museum and Gallery
Canberra Museum and Gallery is the ideal place to meet! Choose from seven vibrant and contemporary spaces designed to suit your function needs:
The Foyer:
A delightful space suitable for receptions, banquets, launches, recitals or fundraisers. The foyer has access to the internal studio courtyard with a capacity for 120 guests for a reception.
The Theatrette:
Suitable for presentations, workshops, seminars, meetings. Seats up to 60. Projection room, lectern with microphone, screen for overhead projector. Bio box includes cassette/CD player, amplifier, slide projector and LCD projector.
The Boardroom:
Seats up to 14 and has a kitchenette and private balcony.
The Art Studio:
Hands on art studio for 2D and 3D work. Suitable for a wide range of media. Life drawing, print making, drying rack, photographic darkroom. Electric kiln suitable for glass and ceramics.
The Public Meeting Room:
Suitable for meetings, small workshops and training sessions. Work tables and seating for 25 or up to 30 in classroom configuration.
A range of equipment is available for hire. Discount rates are available for community and non-profit groups.

Lanyon
Lanyon offers many beautiful garden areas, making it the perfect location for an outdoor wedding, Christmas party or photographic shoot. Imagine posing in your wedding pictures with the wonderful historic homestead in the background!
Also available for hire at Lanyon is the Education Centre and the Murrumbidgee Room or, for a very special function, the homestead verandah.

Mugga-Mugga
Mugga-Mugga is one of Canberra's earliest historic sites. The modern education centre is ideal for meetings, seminars and private parties. From here, the view across Canberra is breathtaking!
Hire Mugga, and limited tables, chairs, crockery, cutlery and glassware are included.
