An exhibition of work by celebrated Australian artist Mandy Martin whose painting examines the fragile beauty of the Australian landscape.
Mandy Martin is one of Australia’s foremost artists. Martin was born in Adelaide in 1952 and educated at the South Australian School of Art (1972-1975). Since 1978 she has been a lecturer at the ANU National Institute of the Arts, School of Art. She currently lives and works in both Canberra and Cowra.
Martin has held over 80 solo exhibitions in Australia, Mexico and the USA. She has participated widely in curated exhibitions in Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, USA and Italy. Her works are in many public and private collections including the National Gallery of Australia, most State galleries, regional collections and institutional collections. In the USA she is represented in the prestigious Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York and the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art.
