SOMETHING IN THE AIR FLOOR TALK SERIES

Join CMAG curators for a series of floor talks in which various local artists
will discuss their work in the Something in the Air exhibition.

Wednesday 23 June > 12.30-1.30pm
Mark Van Veen, Assistant Director: Curatorial & Exhibitions, and Deborah Clark,
Curator of Visual Arts, present an overview of the exhibition and are joined by
Hester Gascoigne who will talk about Rosalie Gascoigne’s work.

Wednesday 28 July, Art Forum Lecture > 1.00-2.00pm
Deborah Clark in discussion with Vivienne Binns, Steven Holland and Ingo Kleinert.
In association with the ANU School of Art.

Wednesday 15 September > 12.30-1.30pm

CELEBRATING A NATIONAL SYMBOL:
COLLECTOR’S FLOOR TALK AND MORNING TEA

Tuesday 31 August > 10.30 – 11.30am


To mark this Centenary year of National Wattle Day, join Edwin Ride as he explains how his collection of wringers and tea cups, postcards and poetry, music, military badges and more illustrates our relationship with wattle over time. Morning tea will be served in the CMAG Foyer after the program.

CURIOUS ABOUT COLLAGE: LUNCHTIME WORKSHOPS

Tuesdays 7, 14, 21 & 28 September > 12.30 – 1.30pm


A series of lunchtime workshops designed as an introduction to collage, and particularly the diversity of local artists’ collage showcased in the Something in the Air exhibition. Spend four lunchtimes with CMAG Education Officer Amelia Zaraftis exploring a unique assortment of materials and techniques to develop your own artworks.

CAPTURED SHADOWS: SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM

Tuesday 5 October > 10.00am – 12.30pm (5 to 7 years)
Wednesday 6 October > 10.00am to 2.00pm (8 to 12 years)


Join CMAG Education Officer Amelia Zaraftis to explore a special selection of unique patterned and textured art making materials, and then enjoy the process of capturing your shadow. Meet the artist Stephanie Jones, and hear about the ancient myths which inspire her exquisite patterned silhouette installation.
