Please bring your own drink, closed-toe shoes and outdoor clothing required.

Sun 18 October: 11am-4pm

Join Sarah St Vincent Welch to discover how ideas of home, place, and memories can be sources for poetry, life writing and fiction, over three Sundays at the historic Lanyon, Calthorpes’ House and
Mugga-Mugga properties. The guided writing workshops will include a tour and will draw inspiration
from the homes, the landscape, and reflect on domestic life, leisure, work and change. The workshop
will include writing exercises and games engaging with the environments and responding to their histories and yours, and will provide time to experience the homes and surrounds, and to write and discuss together. Sarah has over fifteen years of experience teaching creative writing in the Canberra community. Participants can attend all three workshops, or a combination of Lanyon and Calthorpes’ House or Lanyon and Mugga-Mugga.

$195 for Lanyon only, to add either Calthorpes’ House and/or Mugga-Mugga classes is an extra $50 each; includes 12 months of ACT Writers Centre membership (for Lanyon only ACT M&G members and ACT Writers Centre members $130), bookings essential via 6262 9191 or www.actwriters.org.au, payment is required at time of booking.
