MEMBERS WORKSHOP: Canberra gardens in Spring


Sat 12 October: 10.30am–12.00pm

To celebrate Floriade, join our horticulture expert, Martin Zierholz, to hear about work planned for this unique 1920s heritage garden. Learn about garden design, maintaining roses and then get your hands dirty as you propagate herbaceous perennials such as bearded irises and daisies to take home.

Free for ACT M&G Members and $5 for guests, payment by Tue 8 October, includes morning tea, please wear outdoor clothing and sturdy closed-toe shoes.

LIFE ON THE LIMESTONE PLAINS: Calthorpes’ House


Sat 28 September: 1.30–4.00pm

The second tour in a three-part Centenary series which takes Mugga-Mugga, Calthorpes’ House and Lanyon as pivotal points to examine the changing face of life on the Limestone Plains.

Join John Armes, Cultural Heritage Architect, and David Hobbes, Associate with Philip Leeson Architects, on a tour of the inner-south; begin at Calthorpes’ House, gain an insight to the streetscape of Manuka, view the planned city from Red Hill lookout, then enjoy afternoon tea at Red Hill Lookout Cafe & Bar.

$25 ($20 ACT M&G Members), payment by Thu 26 September, includes transport between venues, please wear outdoor clothing and sturdy closed-toe shoes.

A visit to Calthorpes’ House will take you back to Canberra’s early years.
In association with ACT Seniors’ Week.

OPEN HOUSE: Mother’s Day


Sun 12 May: 1.00–4.00pm

A special Mother’s Day celebration – share family memories and join in a sing-a-long around the pianola.

Free entry for mothers and grandmothers, otherwise normal admission.

 


WORKSHOP: Pin It


Sat 27 July: 1.00-4.00pm

Examine the fabulous fashions of Dell Calthorpe including her quilted dressing gown with matching slippers, printed chiffon dress, and her collection of costume jewellery. Then create your own dazzling decorative brooch during a hands-on workshop led by local artist Jacqueline Bradley at Mugga-Mugga.

$35 (ACT M&G Members $30), includes all materials and afternoon tea, payment by Thu 25 July, please wear closed-toe shoes.

Please note, as the workshop component of program is held at Mugga-Mugga participants must provide their own transport for travel between the two historic places.
